Full-Time: School Year Children’s House Lead Teacher
Rock Prairie Montessori School is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, dedicated candidate for our Children’s House program at our Janesville, WI campus. This individual will work with a mixed age Children’s House classroom of 25 - 28 students, directing their activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment.

Position hours: Monday through Friday 7:45 am – 4:00 pm
Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum to develop interdisciplinary lessons that meet both the group and individual needs of students.
Prepare the classroom environment, materials, and equipment.
Work with students of various abilities, including those with diagnosed learning differences.
Supervise students at all times including transitions between activities ensuring students are accounted for, are safe, and understand what is expected of them.
Carefully observe students and keep daily records through work plans and daily records.
Help children work cooperatively in an atmosphere of respect using models of behavior and intervention.
Promote good communication.
Maintain professional attitudes and foster a positive, constructive, and supportive relationship between parents, colleagues, children, and the school.
Assist with supervision of parent volunteers
Be knowledgeable of and comply with the school child disciplinary process.
Respect confidentially of children, parents, and staff information when appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
Our Ideal Candidate:
Have an IMC (MACTE) or equivalent diploma/certification for Montessori Children’s House application
Have a four-year baccalaureate degree or equivalent background.
No less than 1,040 hours experience as a teacher, assistant teacher, aide, or student intern, preferably in a Montessori classroom
Has a passion for working with young children.
Is willing to maintain ongoing required professional development (Negative TB test documentation required within 30 days of hire.)
