SPANISH Teacher

We are looking for a passionate, versatile and knowledgeable Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. Our ideal candidate can speak and write fluently in Spanish and successfully motivate children in mutual excitement to learn and use the language naturally, inside as well as outside of the classroom lessons. The ideal candidate will be able to use a blend of Montessori developed and Spanish as a World Language curriculum that enables students to work toward reading and writing in Spanish, as well as show comprehension and motivation to speak and use their lessons conversationally. Cultural studies should be integrated throughout the curriculum to give students perspective on the history and development of the language.

Spanish Teacher Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach multiple levels of students the Spanish language, with an age appropriate blend of new grammar and vocabulary that builds upon itself.

  • Utilize a spiral curriculum to design lesson plans and prepare materials accordingly.

  • Observe children for comprehension and do periodic evaluations.

  • Record keeping and progress report writing as directed.

  • Communicate well with colleagues to ensure student success

Spanish Teacher Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in education or related teaching experience

  • Fluency in the Spanish language

  • Experience working with young children and familiarity with using childhood developmental stages to design learning activities and lessons

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficiency in basic computer programs

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Montessori philosophy and method of education

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Detailed planning of multiple levels of instruction for multiple learning groups daily required

Substitute Teachers at all levels wanted!

Substitutes wanted for all shifts - you pick when you are available! Shifts as early as 7:20 am or as late as 5:00 pm. Please apply below if interested for an interview for placement on the sub list. Substitute pay is $18-$19 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be reliable.
