“The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six. For that is the time when man’s intelligence itself, his greatest implement, is being formed.” –Dr. Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind
Rock Prairie Montessori School offers programs for children 2 years of age through Elementary. Each program provides an enriching and challenging educational environment in which every child can grow to his or her fullest potential intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially. The unique classroom structure and materials are what set Montessori apart from other educational approaches. In the mixed age classrooms children experience a combination of freedom and structure that includes individual instruction and independent learning while also learning respect for others and the world. Within a consistent Montessori framework, and through the dynamic partnership of child, parent/guardian and teacher, Rock Prairie Montessori School offers an “education for life”.
A free Adult and Infant Program is also offered once a week from September to May each year for parents/guardians and their child age birth to 23 months.
